Here’s a set of tools that will help you get the most out of the
www.womenoftheelca.org site. This
site is best viewed
with Internet
Explorer 7.1 or
above or Netscape
6.0 or above. You
will also want to
download the Flash
plug-in if you do
not now have it.
Downloading PDF Files
Portable Document Files (PDFs) are very helpful for program planners and leaders, as well as participants in events or gatherings. On this site, many of the resources are in PDF format, which means they look exactly like a printed resource, brochure, or flyer. This allows you to print and distribute them as needed (with appropriate permissions as noted on the resource).
To download a PDF file from this Web site, you must have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader installed on your computer. You can download this program for free
here. Once you have the program installed, simply double click on the PDF you’d like to view and the document will be
displayed through the Reader program on your screen. (If this does not work on your computer, save the PDF file to your local drive, then open the Reader program, open the file you saved, and read or print as needed.)

Taking part in on-line discussions
We use a program called WebBoard™ for on-line discussions. To participate in a discussion through this Web site, you must first sign up on the WebBoard™. By clicking
here,
you will be directed to the sign up page. Click on New User, which will allow you to create a user profile, log in, and begin discussing. If you are already a member, you may go to the same page and log in to begin participating in any or all of the on-line discussions available.
A simple way to get to the discussion board once you’ve signed
up is to add the page to your “favorites” (Explorer and AOL users) or
"bookmark"
it (Netscape users).
Hearing audio and viewing video
RealPlayer® is needed to hear audio clips and view video clips.
Download RealPlayer
here.
Filling out forms
To help fill out electronic forms, such as grant applications and event
registrations, you will need Formatta Filler®. Download the Formatta Filler® program
here
and save it to your local drive; then install the “.exe” from that location. When the Formatta Filler® registration page opens, simply close it again. You do not need to register Formatta Filler®.
Using the Site Map
The site map is a tool that allows you to easily navigate to a specific page on the Web site. When clicking on the Site Map link in the upper right-hand corner of the Web site, you will be taken to a page that lists (in hierarchical format) the main pages of the site. Each of these pages is displayed as a hyperlink, and you may click on the page title to be taken directly to that location.
